Major Changes on the Way

I had a major brainstorm this last week for the plot to my book. I'm really excited about it, but I'm not going to share it here because of spoilers. This new idea just really clicked with me and I'm happy to say that I won't have to change much to the story to make it work. Here's looking forward to writing more this week.

Another 1800 = Word Count at 4%

I added another 1800 words to my manuscript this week. I've been working on the outline, but that doesn't count as real writing in my book. The chapter isn't done yet, but I won't have anytime to work on it anymore before it's due tonight for my writing group, The Bartlebys. I'm going to finish the chapter with another 1000 words or so on Monday and then move on to the chapter 3.

Word Count at 2%

As of the time of this posting, I currently have 2561 words written which is roughly 2% of my goal. I would have had more, but I threw away a thousand words because it ended up being trying to do too much in too short of a space with it. No need for exposition dump.

I joined a writing group recently, and we have a goal of writing 3k to 5k words a week. This week, including the notes I took and the stuff I threw out, I wrote a little more than 4k words, but the only words that really matter are the ones that end up in the novel.
